About Me
My Personal Statement
I was born and raised in the small town of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina where I learned about faith, dedication, and compassion. These traits not only influenced my childhood, but they have also led me to where I am today. I became interested in the field of healthcare during my sophomore year of high school. While pursuing a nursing education at MUSC, I made a decision to solely focus on myself. Taking a semester off to do some soul-searching ended up being the most beneficial thing I have ever done for myself; I gained nursing / clinical training experience and ultimately discovered my passions for mental health, research and social contribution. My endeavors have allowed me to understand how much I could help people by providing care for them.
I graduated the College of Charleston in May of 2021 with a bachelor's in General Studies degree, and two minors: Psychology and Communications. My third degree is an Associate's in Applied Science. My endeavors have allowed me to understand how much I could help people by providing care for them. I am very compassionate about helping others, and I am eager to pursue a profession that will allow me to spend the rest of my life doing what I love.
My short term goals are to move back to my "second hometown" in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, and obtain a job in research; healthcare; advertising, PR & marketing; or health communications. My long term goals include gaining one to three years of experience. Then, I plan to consider furthering my education to become a Child Life Specialist after obtaining a MSW degree. If the opportunity arises, I may also consider becoming a Licensed Therapist. My future plans are not concrete because I cannot wait to see where my life takes me!
